About Us

Our names are Tristen & Beth Even, and we founded Hugs From Above in 2023 to honor the memory of our daughter, McKinsey. We tragically lost McKinsey on May 29th, 2023, at 18 weeks gestation. This profound loss affected us and our young son deeply, and we realized that there were limited resources available in South Dakota for bereaved parents like us. Driven by the desire to provide support for loss parents, we created Hugs From Above to fill that gap.

As South Dakota natives, it is essential for us to offer care packages for bereaved parents in the state that has given us so much. Throughout our journey, we have also formed invaluable connections with other loss parents, which has been a source of comfort and strength.
